Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Al Jaber Establishment announce new 800 million Abu Dhabi icon rising 'Between the Bridges'
The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and the Al Jaber Establishment today officially announced that their iconic joint venture project, Between the Bridges (BTB) – a complex comprising a Five Star hotel, luxury villas, executive apartments and a full service retail and spa facility – is currently under construction in Abu Dhabi.
United Arab Emirates:Monday,January 16-2006 — — The AED 800 million project was named ‘Between the Bridges’ due to the fact that it lies on a 900 meter stretch between the Al-Maqtaa and Al Musafah bridges that lead onto the island of Abu Dhabi, with the first phase earmarked for completion in February 2007.
‘This prestigious project represents an important milestone in the development of Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector,’ said His Excellency Mubarak Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority. ‘We are delighted to have the Al Jaber Establishment as our partner in this venture which will raise the bar in terms of hospitality excellence and design superiority in the Emirate.’
The announcement comes within the context of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the instructions of General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to support the private sector and have it as partner in the development of the Emirate’s tourism infrastructure.
‘Since our establishment in 1970, the Al Jaber Establishment has been committed to building the nation through ventures aimed at attracting capital investment and business, with the intention to develop the economic infrastructure and commercial opportunities in Abu Dhabi,’ said Obeid Al Jaber, Chairman of the Al Jaber Establishment.
‘We believe that the hospitality industry in Abu Dhabi is an essential economic building block, and in close cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, our iconic project, ‘Between the Bridges,’ will add a new dimension of luxury, excellence and service to the Emirates’ tourism sector.’
The center piece of the ‘Between the Bridges’ project will be the 5 Star hotel with seven levels and 220 rooms, a beautiful pool deck overlooking the white sandy beach stretch with seven water front ‘groins’ jetting out to sea. With fully equipped business centers and a variety of themed restaurants, business executives and visitors will experience luxury and comfort all in serene natural surroundings. Also planned is an all day dining outlet together with exclusive French and Chinese cuisine restaurants.
Executive apartments ranging from studios to 4 bedroom living spaces with a communal swimming pool facility are also under construction and set for completion by December 2007, designed especially for business executives or families looking for a truly unique and relaxed lifestyle. For families looking for more privacy four, five and seven bedroom villas are also in the works along with sizeable gardens and private swimming pools.
Surrounded by 21 thousand square meters of perfectly manicured gardens and landscaped meadows, the property will be crisscrossed with canals navigated by water taxis to transport visitors around the complex.
Leading from the main central canal lies the tranquility of the spa made up of three floors consisting of massage, treatment and steam rooms with attached terraces overlooking the sea, recreation areas, a gym and a swimming pool separated into male and female sections adjoined by a state of the art conferencing facility and 10 thousand square meters of retail space. Seven themed restaurants blend into the overall ambiance within the spa and retail facility and on the far end of the project is the Lighthouse restaurant, to be built on the largest groin stretching farthest into the sea, with exquisite cuisine and exceptional views of the island of Abu Dhabi.
